International Year One
A two-semester pathway programme
The International Year One will develop your academic knowledge and English language skills, whilst preparing you to progress to the second year of your chosen undergraduate degree. This is a two-semester programme with a choice of two routes.
Is the International Year One right for me?
The International Year One is for international students who are looking to save time and money in their studies, by progressing straight to the second year of their undergraduate degree. You will develop the key skills to get the most out of your international studies - helping you prepare for both university and career success.
What can you expect?
Teaching will take place through a mix of face-to-face and virtual teacher-led learning. Find out more about what you can expect when you join us on campus.
You will study a combination of core and subject-specific modules in the style of the University - making the transition to your second year of university simple and easy. You will be taught in class sizes of around 20 students and will take part in seminars, group lectures and independent study.
Why join our November intake?
Join us in November and stay on track to progress to your degree at the same time as originally planned.
By taking our November intake you will benefit from five additional weeks of activities before the start of your academic studies at no additional cost.
Key highlights include:Full enrichment programme - daily online enrichment classes.Live tutor classes - 15 hours of live teaching per week.Social activities - daily breakfast club during induction week and a programme of social events and activities to join every day.Practical project skills - exciting 20+ hour project to apply skills in a real-life context, with tutor guidance.
All of this allows you to get a head start in applying skills in real-life projects, receiving support at settling in at university and in the UK and making friends by joining a series of social events. You will also be fully prepared to start your academic modules from January.
Due to the nature of the additional activities offered at the beginning of these November intakes, students will be expected to be in country and ready to start their studies on campus at the start of the programme.
