The University of Huddersfield International Study Centre has added a new start date for students who want to begin the International Foundation Year or International Year One in Autumn 2020. This will be beneficial for students who are experiencing difficulties with travel restrictions from their home countries, and provide them with more time to prepare for studying abroad.
The new start option will allow students to begin their studies on 2nd November 2020, with a suggested arrival date of 19th October 2020 if two week quarantine is required (dependent on countries subject to the UK government quarantine) upon entering the United Kingdom. It is important to note that there will be no delay to degree enrolment for students who opt to begin their preparational course in November, as students joining us at the later date will have a more intensive first semester, with more teaching hours per week than the September-starting students. This means that all students who begin their studies with us this Autumn will have the opportunity to progress to the University together.
Our students’ safety and well-being is important to us, so to prepare for courses starting on campus we have introduced several precautionary measures in and around our buildings. As well as routine cleaning regimes, one-way systems in busy areas and new rules for lifts, communal areas, toilets and learning spaces have been established. Hand sanitiser will be available in all buildings and there will be facilities for hand washing across campus. Staff and students will be requested to wear a face covering when inside a building unless exempt from this Government guidance.
